This poem followed a dream I had, about my sister, and each word is very true.... Last Night I had a dream last night, And I awoke shedding tears It had given me a fright; It had woken all my fears.
I saw you fallen down! I witnessed you dying. In my own tears I drown; I was wasted with crying.
I embraced you tight, I held you as you bled. To wear away the fright But all I felt was dread.
No pain was so great, As what I knew that time. The night wore on late; The clock began to chime.
I woke to then realize It merely was a dream! Tears from my waking eyes Then began to stream.
I ran to hold you near. From such dreams I fled. I said “I love you, dear” And cradled your head.
Oh my sister, dearest heart, How I would so miss you! If we were torn apart, Had nightmares proven true.
I bowed my head right there, Relieved to find you well! I whisper words of prayer. Gratitude, to God alone, I tell.
