The secret of a silent terror within many quiet villages is revealed by a series of murders, the culprit’s ways cunning and skillfully planned, carried out only when a moon lights the darkened sky. Few dare even step outside their doors after the light of day has gone. No village in the realms of Gondor and Rohan are safe from this “Moonlight Terror”, for when the next moon arrives, the killer has moved on to the next village. The local guards cannot cope with the losses, their own families often the first to perish by the hand of the murderer, seeming to be targeted specifically by the killer. It is feared, however, that this hand of death is headed for the very streets of Minas Tirith... If that were to be true, many more lives would perish to the brutal murders.
Often the weapon of choice varied, from sword, to dagger, or perhaps an arrow, for long range effectiveness. The “Moonlight Terror” would take his/her choice among the families of the guards within that village, and each night there after, unless the moon were to be obscured by clouds, one by one the members of that family would be slain without remorse. Whether it is the insane killings of a troubled mind, or a devious plot for the downfall of Gondor and Rohan’s security, it is up to someone to discover...
During these killings, strange individuals are often present, but claim to be tracking the infamous “Moonlight Terror” and even though suspicions are upon them, nothing as of yet has lead to either of them... The soldiers of these villages, in their despair and efforts to save their families, have turned to the authorities in Minas Tirith for assistance, begging to be offered their sharpest minds and most skilled huntsman.
If you love a good mystery, “Moonlight Becomes You” is sure to please! Whoever first solves this puzzle, will receive the winner’s banner for them to place on their website or perhaps even their sig, stating their achievement and skill of mind!
Time in which the RP takes place: The 20th year of the Fourth Age, the winter months.
The Trackers, or in other words, suspects:
Dilion:
A young reckless rogue, ruggedly handsome with striking blue eyes and a full head of tosseled slightly sun-bleached brown hair, he is not hesitant to use it to his advantage; in other words, a lady’s man. Claiming to be out for the bounty price of the “Moonlight Terror”, he is also out for fame, or is he seeking to be infamous? His past is sketchy, though what was known about him was revealing enough as to the reasoning for his character. A wealthy landowner’s son, Dilion was careless and a devious trickster, preferring to spend nights out on the town rather than settle into his father’s business. His mother had died early in his youth, in a so called “accident” when she had been present at an archery tournament, causing him to carry a bitterness in his heart against his father. Forcing him to go into the service of Gondor’s army, his father was hard and cruel, driving him to rebellion, which led to Dilion’s reckless behavior in life. When his father died from a mysterious illness, Dilion fled after selling his father’s land, taking with him the wealth, though it was quickly spent on foolish gambling and investments, as was his habit.
Reowa:
Seeming to be an ordinary young woman of Rohan, with fair features and hair of golden gleam, she has a feisty spirit true to her blood, revealing herself to be an excellent huntswoman and a mind for solving mysteries. Very secretive about her past, it was said to have been the slaying of a close friend, which drove her to wander in search of evil, finding at long last a challenge which kept her constantly traveling and tracking. She cared not for the bounty, it seemed, but claimed only to want an end to needless slaying. She, however, has a bitter resentment toward's Gondor and Rohan's defence, or lack thereof, as she calls it.
Owen:
A mysterious individual, highly skilled in tracking and pursuing criminals, he goes by the simple name of Owen. His gruff looks gives him an unsavory appearance, with his unkempt beard and shaggy dark hair, his near-black eyes have a beady quality. He has a habit of squinting, and grumbling to himself as well. It is rumored that he was once a hired hit man for Gondor, an assassin of sorts, though his past is more than slightly shady. His claim for his motives to capture “Moonlight Terror” is the claim to the bounty, but not for the money, but for the praise that goes with it. He would then, as he says often, “slip away into the shadows and live in the background, content with the accomplishment” A rather unlikely goal for such a rough character...
Leome:
A quiet sort of man, in his mid-thirties, of Rohan decent, he is said to have served in both Gondor’s army and Rohan’s, deciding to serve Gondor as a ranger, though after a certain incident, going solo. His past is somewhat vague, as he does not speak often of it, though has hinted at why he pursues so fiercely the “Moonlight Terror”. A few years wed, with two children, his family was slain within the very safety of their small village in Rohan. It forced him into bitterness and silence, though he still pursued his career as a ranger, but with less respect towards higher authorities.
Saria:
An exotic sort of woman, with her dark skin and eyes of glacier blue, seems harmless, even delicate at first glance, but her fiery spirit is not to be underestimated, her strength in her swiftness and cat-like mentality. She weilds a certain fierceness in her demeanor when it comes to being questioned and challenged. Her past is wholly unknown, and as to where she comes from, that too is a mystery in and of its self...
These five individuals are often on the trail of the murders, but keep your guard, for no one is to be trusted... Good luck! And be sure to have read the rules. I will bring to you a beginning post shortly.
