*arrives at thread 12 days late* Thanks people Just so's you know I have a good day. I spent it riding my bicycle around London as part of the London Bikeathon. I rode 52 miles, so I was feeeling pretty tired my the end. [Advice: if attempting to ride long distances, don't tweak a hamstring 10 miles before the finish. It makes the rest soooo much harder ] Oh, and I used the money I got to buy a new bike, cos I wore the old one out. *shows off shiny new bicycle*

Yay, Darrell's back, paaartaayyy tiime!!!!!
Congratulations on completing the bikeathon.. sounds like an accomplishment worth mentioning!! Not sure I could have done it, good job! But I couldn't afford buying new bikes all the time, so I'll keep mine as a means of transportation, lol

I use mine as a means of transportation too. Every day, during school time, cos if I want to get to school on time, I have to ride. The bike that was worn out was six years old, and I'd been riding it about 3.5 miles a day for the last 3, so I was going to need a new one, even if I hadn't got a new one. The mechanic at the bike shop said he was suprised my old bike actually stayed in one piece through the bikeathon. I knew it could make it *pets old bike* and now it can have a nice, quiet retirement in the shed

Yes I know I'm late, but it doesn't really matter, does it? What matters is the warm thought, so...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARRELL! ;D

Even though I'm not sure how much an English mile is, it still sounds like more than I would have liked to do on a worn out bike. You must be either very determined or slightly crazy or a bit of both. What is your next goal?

lol, slightly crazy is accurate. Me and my friend decided to do it on the spur of the moment... for a laugh... My next goal? Well, we're considering doing the London to Brighton next year. (Brighton is a town on the south coast of England) That is 54 miles. 2 more than what we did this year. And we have long term plans to do the London to Paris at some point too. That is 70 miles a day for three and a half days. Apparently. And thanks Revon, you are right. It's the thought that counts.
