Little of Emeryn's past is available at this time. More should be clear after Servants of Shinu resolves.
Name: Emeryn
Race: Man
Age: Mid 40's
Height: 6'1"
Appearance: A lean yet muscular man, Emeryn has dark hair, piercing grey eyes, and darkly tanned skin.
Emeryn is skilled at both weaponless combat and the use of a staff. He does not believe in killing, he instead simply knocks an opponent unconscious or otherwise immobilizes them. He has some skill with a bow but it is affected by his belief in "nonviolent combat". He also has a keen mind and is well-learned in the art of healing, as are all who live in Haven. As oxymoronic as it may seem, Emeryn keeps a close eye on "the outside world", as he calls it, through a network of friends.
Often considered eccentric, Emeryn's lack of patience and belief in the sanctity of life could be considered his main weaknesses. (Although others may consider the latter a strength)
Emeryn grew up in a small village, whose location he has not disclosed. There, while still a teen, he quickly learned that to acquire status one had few options: Become a merchant, soldier, or craftsman. Having no desire to exploit peasants or create, he served as a guard and warrior under Lord Aragorn's colors during the Umbar Siege. However, he soon learned that war sickened him, and after a mere three years he left, a changed man.
During his years in Lord Aragorn's service he visited with a woman and sired a child in a port town. But at his return while unemployed he found his love gone, left for "a more dependable father", as she explained in a letter delivered anonymously.
After this Emeryn lived a simple life, exploring the wilderness in the far west. He had rediscovered his true passion, the pursuit of knowledge. With it came a dream of a haven, uninfluenced by the politics of civilization. A place where men, and women, of similar beliefs could gather to find peace, and with it happiness.
Thus Haven was born.
