My given name is Mira Noblejewel, but that is Elven, and all but forgotten now..... My true, or at least more correct, name, is Mira Shadowmirror, a name I have earned throughout my odd life. I have long auburn hair that looks more like a deep dark brown, and pale skin. My eyes are the strangest part though, for they are completely white, and have no color and no pupils. I am blind visually, but I can see above me, in front of me, behind me, and on all sides of me at the same time with my mind.
The reason for this oddity is because my father was one of the wandering Druids, who are a strange race, and I inherited an innate power of all things telepathic and telekinetic. I have become one of the greatest assassins and illusionists because of this, but to know me, you must know my story.....
My mother was an elven noble of the Teleri city, and met my father, a Druid, who was wandering near her city. They, as usual, fell in love, and my father ran off and my mother was exiled, for Druids are not good people to socialize with, supposedly.
When my mother had the child she was deemed unfit to remain in the city, and they threw her out. She went to a human village, but died not too much later. I was left alone to fend for myself at the age of three, and was taken in by a young couple who knew me and my mother. But they did not know my history nor what I had inherited....no one did. The young couple died, their minds lost in my anger.
I destroyed them, not meaning to, but it happened anyways. I was left alone once more, and was this time taken in by a group of young thieves. Their leader's name was Dornin, but most called him Dorn, or, if he was in a bad mood, they called him Dorn the Daring to appease his temper. I learned everything I know from them, and used my powers to enhance my pickpocketing abilities.
Then, one day Dorn was captured, arrested for stealing from the governor of the city. I was around 15 at the time.
None of the other thieves wanted to go after him, saying he had been daring one too many times. I disagreed. So I went after him. That was the first time I used illusion to help me. I tapped into the mind of a gaurd, twitching his optic nerve and pacing over myself the illusion of another gaurd. I got Dorn out of the gaol, but never got farther than the gates of the compound.
I was not accustomed to using the illusory part of my power, and it had faded quickly. The gaurd knew that Dorn was a wanted criminal, so decided to shoot me instead. But Dorn the Daring finally dared one too many times and got in the way as he tried to shove me away from the crossbow bolt. It pierced his lung, and he fell where he stood. I went to help him, but he was already dying. The first rule of the group was to keep yourself to yourself and leave the rest to their fate.
So Dorn told me to go and died there, breaking his first rule, and knowing I had to obey. I did, and I ran out through the gates and out of the town and have not been back since.
The reason I have become so efficient in illusions is because it is one of the many things I have failed, and it is one of the ONLY things I can remedy. I failed my mother, my foster parents, and my only friend.... To know me, you must know my life, and to know that is to know only a shadow, who mirrors you as you die....
